The fist step in the process is a meeting or in-depth phone discussion in which you tell me about your organization. We talk about your goals and philosophy, your target market, and what you do and don't like in terms of image. In this case, the church already knew they wanted to include circles or ovals in the design, so we used that as a starting point.
After I have a good idea of what you're looking for, the real fun begins! I'll create several concepts that incorporate the elements you wanted and suit the look you're trying to create. For ALC, that was something young and modern, but still appropriate for a church.

The pastor liked the first two, so we talked about what he liked and didn't about those designs, and I refined those concepts further.

As you can see, the differences are subtle, but important. We could have done several more revisions, but they really liked the design with the beveled edge, so the final logo was created, with variations for the several ministries within the church.

A successful logo becomes the icon that people instantly bring to mind when they think of your business or organization. You'll use it on everything - signage, advertising, business cards, letterhead, and websites. For this reason, a logo design by Dreamkissed is a multi-step process, which tweaks and refines an idea until the logo truly conveys what you stand for. This page goes through the process step by step, using a logo created for Abundant Life Church (ALC) as an example.
The way a logo will be used is an important issue to consider in logo design. Poor decisions here can cost a company hundreds, even thousands of dollars down the road. Logos that will only be used for digital printing (on your home/office printer, or professionally printed on paper, usually in small batches, with regular ink) can have a wider variety of color and shading than logos that will be used on mugs, caps, high-volume printing, or printing that uses special effects such as raised ink. Generally speaking, the simpler the design, in terms of color and shading, the more widely it can be used without alteration.
When your logo design is finished, you'll receive a CD (or sometimes files by email) of the logo in several file formats and sizes.
The step-by-step process of refining and improving a design means that your logo will truly identify your organization. Dreamkissed Design takes great pride in creating logos that are beautiful, powerful, and original. We never use clip art or premade logos. Each design is a unique work of art, made to your specifications.
