Lions Club Poster

a break from tradition

Since 2005, I've been doing the graphics for the Fayetteville Lions Club annual 5k. Over time, the graphics have gotten more modern and stylish, and the race has grown each year. For 2009, the Fayetteville and Springdale Lions combined their resources for a large regional event.

In this poster, I drew on a WPA-poster style in part to cut printing costs, but also to resonate with the frugal spirit of the day. The lion's head with the flowing main has been used, with color variations, for the past several years, to give a sense of consistency to the event. The Lions Club logo is shown prominently in this poster as a design feature.
